Below will be a summary of the do’s and don’ts as you start your epic journey! Don’t forget to check out his video and youtube channel with a more in-depth video of this article at the end!
What to Focus First?
First, let’s go over what you should focus on first, gameplay wise: Campaign (properly referred to as Main Story). As you work through the campaign you will notice that different battles in the chapters unlock different areas in the game. These areas are vital in order to keep progressing further! Once you’ve reached Hard Chapter 5 Battle 7, you will have unlocked every area in the game. Be mindful that you do not need to waste stamina trying to 3 star each battle in the beginning. As long as you complete it with 1 star, you will unlock it and you can return at a later date with a much better team!
Something to also keep an eye on whilst working through the campaign, is the Royal Road, this is more or less like a checklist that keeps you on track with the activities of the game and allows you to earn rewards as you complete each step.
So… this is a Base-Builder too?
This brings us to Town upgrades, which is something Royal Road will again help you keep track of. Through town upgrades, you will unlock various useful areas such as the Forge, Mage Tower and Market.
Within the Forge you will notice 3 sections: Shop, Stat Change, & Crafting.
- Shop
- Never buy gear from the forge shop if you can farm better; it’s a waste of gold.
- Stat change
- Pick the gear you wish to stat change but be warned, it will pick at random and CANNOT be reversed!
- Crafting
- If you are going to craft any gear, and you should, craft as many Vigor sets as you can for all your characters, this is arguably one of the best sets, if not the best, in the game for every character!
Within the Mage Tower, you will find that you can craft mana orbs which star up your characters. Unless you have too much gold (which seems impossible) don’t waste your gold on the conversion. Instead, farm them in one of the dungeons which we will get to shortly; same goes for relic advancement seeds.
Another important town upgrade is the Relic Forge. As simple as the name suggests, it’s a place to upgrade your character relics. However, it won’t be needed until you’ve unlocked it in the hard campaign.
The Market is another great upgrade in your new town. It’s recommended that you buy all the resources up to the point at which you can farm them from their respective dungeons. The only exception to this would be that you ALWAYS want to buy tomes and talismans as you only have 5 chances daily between the talisman and tome dungeon, aka the Sealed Temple, to earn them!
Let’s go on an Adventure!
Once you’re comfortable within the Main Story, you may want to turn your attention to Adventure Story mode. Adventure is much like the main story (campaign) but costs no stamina to run. It has a lot of chests and hidden secrets to find in order to earn some amazing rewards! It’s time to SUMMON!
In KALR, there are a few different types of summoning banners.
- Rate-Up Summons
- These are limited time boosted rates for certain heroes. Only use this if you can get the guaranteed drop at 60 pulls.
- Special Summons
- This is your banner that is always there for your chance to pull everything, including Legendary heroes.
- Normal Summons
- You get 3 of these free every day so start grabbing them as soon as you log in. Be sure to always do full 10 pulls at a time.
- Relic Summons
- This is your chance to pull relics of each element. Again, only summon using the 10-pull feature.
Are they Worth Building?
Check out this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3KJCCOzo5M showcasing the 9 best rare heroes in the current build of the game. Overall, there are a few heroes whom should be focused on early including Legendary Tristan (Attack) and Legendary Morgan (Controller) which are both earned for free. We also get Kay for free early on, she is an incredible AoE DPS which will make most things that much easier! Once you have acquired those 3, a good healer is never a bad option. The 3 recommended in the early game are Sarah, Clementine or Turin. We also recommend for the first few days/weeks, upgrading your rares to 6 stars as the harder to farm red mana orbs cost half for a rare, then they do for a legendary.
Do we get to Play with our Friends?
The next area of the game to focus on is your clan. If you find yourself in a clan, make sure you at least click into the clan tab once a day to get your attendance. Then, depending on your clans requirements, you may need to take part in the raids on a daily basis and take part in the solo and group missions for your clan. Another great part of being in an active clan is the shop. Most items are limited buys but always make sure you aim to buy the relic summons that can be found in the clan shop before anything! The same goes for buying the other type of relic summons in the arena and then forbidden dungeon shop.

I Want More Free Stuff!
Make sure you get all your daily tasks done as well as weekly and monthly challenges for some great rewards including summons, stamina and gems. The Knights Pass is also great for earning everything you could need in the game! It offers 3 levels of advancement: FREE, premium (2,000 gems) and premium+ ($20). We would, however, only recommend buying the premium and premium+ Knights pass if you know that you will be able to complete all 30 levels.
What about those Big Boss Battles?
Once you’ve done your story running and your characters are starting to look built up properly, what should you do now? The answer is: Dungeons!
There are 2 dungeons in the game which you will focus on in the early game, they are as follows:
- Burning Land which drops Gold and XP potions
- Plain of Beasts which drops hero advancement materials
Once you have those 2 dungeons at a decent tier and want to progress further, you will start to do:
- Frozen Plains which drops relic enhancement materials
- Shrine of Storms which drops materials to awaken your relics
Both dungeons will allow you to upgrade your relics and add some extra power to your team!
Another dungeon we will focus on is the Favor Dungeon. This dungeon works by rotating the available section on a daily basis. Each dungeon will drop materials to awaken your characters and allow them to use additional gear and increase their stats.
The final dungeon we are going to talk about is the Forbidden Dungeon. This dungeon runs over the course of a month and each day you are given 5 entry tickets. It’s very important that you do this dungeon daily and always use your entry tickets. If you get stuck, simply auto-clear the top level you can, until you can progress further. This dungeon offers a wealth of materials, so don’t forget about it!
Play Smarter, Not Harder.
Finally, remember to always be efficient with your stamina. One way to do this is by buying extra stamina on a daily basis in the store. However, we only recommend buying the first 2 increments. Another thing to be aware of is to always check for when you are about to level up as you are given a full stack of stamina. Try to never be overflowing with stamina right before a level up. Wasting stamina should never be an option.
