King Arthur: Legends Rise Iweret

Iweret: Hero Introduction – King Arthur: Legends Rise

A new hero has arrived for King Arthur: Legends Rise! As we roll into the 3rd week of Global Launch gameplay, this is the first new addition since the start of Early Access. Let’s welcome, Iweret!

The horned Dark Mage, Iweret: A witch whose horned appearance is said to be born of a deal with the devil, ‘Iweret’. With powers over death, she is a firm believer that the ends justify the means, no matter how extreme the situation is. Her fellow mages have split opinions on her. To them, she’s either a ‘bold genius’ or a ‘demon’s bride’.

Interestingly enough, in Arthurian lore, “Iweret” is not a female dark mage at all. This was an interesting choice by the developers to take the name and create a completely unrelated hero. If it were true to the lore, she’d be a male knight; one who was slain by Lancelot and who’s daughter was then married to him. Hero design aside, could she be possibly one of the strongest DPS heroes so far? Let’s take a look!

Iweret comes with the Frost Relic: Ars Mortis. While at first glance, this sounds very strong and a perfect fit versus Yskalhaig, it’s important to note that her s1 only has a 100% chance to place [Mark] if the relic gets fully skilled. You also can’t force her to use her s2 then always use s3 with the current setup for skill presets, so it might be tough to take advantage of her buffs and use her hard-hitting s3 as intended. Ideally, she’d pair with another [Mark] hero, like Sigrun.

In the most recent patch notice, it was stated: New Relics will only be available through the Rate Up Summon . It will not be possible to obtain the newly released Relics through other Summons (Relic Summons, Relic Summon Tickets, etc). We will announce when they are added to other summons through either a notice or the description of the in-game items.”  For now, there’s no way to get her Flame or Storm relic as there is no “Rate Up” special for those; she comes with the Frost Relic.

Her Passive skills lend well to a Serpent’s Favor focused team. This makes her synergy with Sigrun even stronger. With additional Chivalry, these passives are even stronger. Her c1 allows her to start with [Black Magic: Wrath] and inflict [Mark] on 2 random enemies at the start of a battle. Her c3 reduces Power of the Dead God passive’s cooldown and grants each Serpent’s Favor ally [Effect Accuracy Increase I]. Her c8 changes her [Black Magic: Tracking] buff to [Black Magic: Annihilation] which adds a ton of damage. While this hero might sound like a powerhouse on paper, this could very well be the case where she under-performs versus expectations unless she’s lacking Chivalry.

Iweret has insane damage potential so focusing a typical DPS build would be suggested. However, don’t forget that to land [Mark], she also needs Effect Accuracy. It could also be suggested to use a Counter set to add extra damage and chances to place [Mark]. If you are using another DPS such as Bedivere, you could also build her in Vigor and Accuracy sets. Keep in mind that speed is also king! Be sure to tune your team wisely with Attack Speed so aligns well for either placing buffs on others first or attacking with her s3 after someone else has placed [Mark].
