As the first article of this Adventure series, it’s best to give an introduction to this game mode. The Adventure Story mode is designed to give you a bit more of an immersive, open-world exploration experience. As you explore the map, you’ll do side quests, open chests, find collectibles, read lore, and of course, encounter lots of enemies. This game mode, however, should not be overly focused early on.
Push your Main Story first and focus a core team for that (Morgan, Tristan, Kay and Turin are totally viable!). When your missions require you to do the Adventure chapter quests in order to level up your Castle, that’s when you’ll want to start pushing. Luckily, you do not need to do every battle or collect every chest to go on to the next chapter, you just need to finish the main quest line. As of writing this article, even at day 50+ for accounts, both Suzi Plays and OddOneGaming are only on Chapter 7. It’s really not needed unless you have the time. You’ll get gated for upgrading your Castle anyway due to Lumber limits.
Overall, Chapter 1 is pretty straight forward. There are a few side quests and a main quest line to follow. You’ll come across another mechanic of the Adventure mode where you have to change the hero you’re walking around as. Often, it will need to be Arthur as part of the story, but sometimes you’ll need Kay (like relating to the little girl), or in the future it will prompt you for types like Control Heroes, or a Fae to complete puzzles.
Do I HAVE to Level THESE Heroes?!
Every chapter of Adventure will include at least 1 battle that goes along with a required chest. The battle will only allow you to use 4 specific heroes. Early on, you will be able to get by with only 1 or 2 heroes decently leveled (5 or 6 star, level 50+). But as you progress, you’ll need to level more and more closer to maximum level. Check Suzi Plays’ guide to see the details of what was required for this special battle and to see the battle play out. In the video, for the chapters in the description you’ll see these special battles noted with both chest & battle (Treasure Chest 7 w/Battle 7).
Luckily, for Chapter 1, you can get by with a fairly minimal team. You’ll probably already have Kay decently leveled at the point you should push this and Arthur can be there for support and his Leader aura. Hector will be required for a battle later on so leveling him is not a waste and Luke is okay as a healer. However, as you can see pictured below, you don’t need to spread out the resources too much, just focus Kay to 6 star and this battle will be a breeze. Likely, you can beat it without her even at 6 star yet. And as noted, you do not NEED to do this battle to finish off this questline and move on to Chapter 2. It’s often best to just skip these battles and get 100% for the Adventure later on.
None of the resources are too hard to find until you get to the very end. At the end of the story after your final battle with Dusk Hoods Boss Ralph, you’ll collect a couple things, finish some more dialogue then the game will suggest to you that maybe you’ve completed everything. However, that’s not the case. After you get to this point, you’ll see that this will say 96% completion (assuming you have not missed anything else and did the special battle). That’s because there’s one more Treasure Chest to collect that’s a bit hidden.
Be sure to continue your Adventure then go over the bridge toward the upper area in Peredur’s Haven (near the character saying “Thank You for saving me!”. You’ll go around the top and to the left. You’ll encounter bonus loot, a battle then the final Collection Treasure Chest.
After complete, be sure claim your final rewards for the Chapter milestones by heading to the Chapters or Chronicle menu. Yay, FREE stuff!

This map includes markers for the BONUS Chests and Keys which are not shown normally. Please note that the random bonus loot was not saved along the way with timestamps for this video but it is for the future.
Prefer a Video? Still Can’t Find Something?
Some of the Adventure quests are easier to see while watching a video and following what someone else is doing (or where they are going). Suzi Plays has you covered with her YouTube series of detailed Adventure guides which include chapters for each individual item needed.
